Hero VIDA VX2 Electric Scooter Launched in India at ₹59,490 With BaaS Model

Hero MotoCorp has launched its newest electric offering in India—the VIDA VX2—aimed squarely at the entry-level e-scooter market. Available in two variants, VX2 Go and VX2 Plus, the scooter starts at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹59,490 under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) subscription plan.

Two Variants, Two Battery Options

The VIDA VX2 Go comes with a 2.2kWh single battery pack, delivering an IDC-rated range of 92km. The VX2 Plus features dual removable battery packs with a total capacity of 3.4kWh, offering an impressive 142km range on a full charge.

VX2 Plus3.4kWh (2x)142 km₹1.10 lakh₹64,990

Hero claims a running cost of just ₹0.96/km, making it an economical daily commuter. The BaaS model is customized based on rider usage patterns and includes battery leasing services.

Performance and Charging

Both variants support fast charging, with a 0–80% top-up achievable in just one hour using a fast charger. A standard bundled charger completes the same in approximately six hours.

Segment-Leading Smart Features

What sets the VIDA VX2 apart is its connected tech suite, rarely seen in this segment:

  • Cloud connectivity with remote immobilisation
  • Turn-by-turn navigation
  • Live ride analytics
  • 4.3-inch TFT instrument cluster (VX2 Go features LCD)
  • Seven vibrant color options
  • Underseat storage of 33.2L, capable of holding a full-face helmet (VX2 Go)

Design and Build

The VX2 retains a clean and contemporary silhouette, echoing VIDA’s brand DNA while catering to younger, urban riders. With practical design choices like removable batteries and large storage capacity, the VX2 doubles down on convenience and daily usability.

The VIDA VX2 offers an attractive blend of affordability, technology, and flexibility, especially with the BaaS pricing model starting under ₹60,000. Positioned as Hero MotoCorp’s most accessible EV yet, the VX2 could significantly boost electric scooter adoption in urban India.
